INCREDIBLE! We had a lovely omakase experience. Very intimate--only 10 people at our seating, but I believe they accommodate up to 12. The food was perfection--my favorites being the King mackerel and Hokkaido scallop. But the absolutely most memorable dish of our night was the fabulous pistachio coulant--an amazing "undercooked" cake-like dessert reminiscent of a chocolate lava cake or soufflé, with the inner contents spilling out once you open it up. This thing was undeniably the most memorable part of our eating experience. The matcha ice cream was a nice finisher to round off a great dinner! The staff is so kind too--they even gave me a sizable to-go container of their in-house pickled celery/lettuce (celeruce?)--after exclaiming how much I loved it and inquired about where I can get it. Only at Neo, of course :)

My husband took me here for our anniversary dinner and omg. Where do I start? When you arrive at the address, you'll see a building called GLASS. That's the building you'll go into. There is limited free parking in front and street parking. This building used to be a house, then was turned into a business. After you go into the building to check in, you are offered some bubbly drink and will be waiting in the front lobby. While waiting, you can check out some of GLASS clothing products. They're really fun to feel and are very high quality. Once it is time, everyone goes further into the building to the kitchen area where you are seated in a very intimate setting. The menu is different each season but if you have any allergies, they will accommodate. The food and drinks are amazing. The service was on point and the staff answered a lot of our questions and announced what each dish is. The decorations are amazing. I love the pottery used. The cost is ... a lot... however it fits how amazing and high quality everything is here except for the chairs. My husband wasn't very comfortable in the high chair. Overall, I can understand why this place had a Michelle award. We came out full and impressed. And we had some memorable dishes from here. This place is a must for any special milestone occasions.

This place has been on my hit list to try for sometime and I finally had a moment (and occasion) that made for the perfect storm to visit. There is limited parking in the front (GLASS), but there's a decent amount of street parking in this area. Once inside you'll be greeted to check in and given some Cava bubbly while you wait to be seated. The entire set of guests will be seated at the same time. It's a very intimate setting and you have the feeling you're in someone's personal kitchen. I love omakases and this one is just spectacular! Food & Drink - 5* The only thing I'll say is there isn't a single item that was disappointing. We personally loved the smoked hamachi the most, it was absolutely killer. For drinks, there is a pairing menu or BYOB. Service - 5* The chefs and staff will be right in front of you preparing each dish and ensuring everyone is taken care of. They are so knowledgeable and attentive to their craft, personally watching each dish being prepared and the attention to detail is impressive and almost cathardic. One can tell how much they love what they do and it really shines through! Cost - 4* Look, you're going to drop some coin here, but you know it upfront when you make the reservation. This isn't a spot you come to everyday unless you have some deep pockets, but it's worth every penny when looking to have a memorable experience. Overall - 5* Just. Go! From beginning to end this is an experience and definitely one of the more memoerabke omakases I've been to. I will definitely have to make it back when theres a special occasion to celebrate!

Excellent service, good ambiance. Definitely a top tier omakase in Houston. They explain where everything is sourced. There's also a dry aging tour at the end if you have time.

I've been to Neo nearly 10 times since they first opened, and I plan to return many more. From the very beginning, this place has stood out as something truly special. While I miss the smaller, more intimate seating and the like-minded foodies from its early days, Neo still delivers an unforgettable experience. The vibe has shifted a bit lately, with the crowd feeling less personal and friendly, but I'm hopeful future visits will bring back that sense of connection. What hasn't changed is the sushi--it's absolutely to die for. Each of the 18 (or so) perfectly crafted bites is prepared right in front of you, with detailed explanations that make the experience incredibly special. I always find myself getting full about halfway through, but I happily power through every bite because it's just that good! My favorite is anything dry-aged! A quick tip: Arrive a little early to grab one of the limited parking spots, or be prepared to park along the road. Despite the minor shifts in atmosphere, Neo remains one of the most unique and delectable sushi experiences in town. Highly recommend it for anyone who loves artfully prepared, unforgettable cuisine! I just remembered that we also attended their special seatings in partnership with 13 Celsius which included a wine tasting of which we upgraded to premium of course! It couldn't have been a more perfect collaboration as we also frequent 13 Celsius... going on at least 15 years now... and adore Harold and Adele. They do the most wonderful and carefully curated events and collabs.

Holy bananas!! I cannot recommend this place enough. All the reviews are totally accurate. So first of all the location is so cute. The fact that it's inside a clothing shop is so unique. You're greeted by champagne and can look around the shop. The bar itself seats 10 people. The chefs greet you in the beginning and are very knowledgeable. Everyone who worked there is so nice. There is a sake or wine pairing included. For sake there were 2 sakes poured throughout the meal. They give you options to add supplements like caviar to one dish. I got to try fish I've never had before and I've had a decent share of omakases. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing!! I already cannot wait to be back.

For our anniversary and my birthday this year, my husband pulled out all the stops and took us to Neo in Houston--a sleek and intimate omakase spot that's been on my foodie bucket list for ages. Let me tell you, this wasn't just dinner; it was an experience. Sure, it turned out to be our most expensive meal of 2024, but honestly? Worth every penny. From the moment we stepped in, we knew we were in for something special. The vibe is chic yet cozy, and the chefs were not just preparing sushi--they were crafting edible art right in front of us. Every dish was a story, a journey, and a little explosion of flavor in one bite. For those who've never tried omakase before, Neo is the perfect introduction. It's not just about eating; it's about slowing down and savoring every moment. Each course felt like its own celebration, from the buttery toro to the delicately seasoned uni. The chefs walked us through every detail, sharing where the ingredients came from and how they were prepared. By the end, we felt like sushi connoisseurs--or at least we pretended to be! What stood out the most was how Neo made our special occasions feel even more extraordinary. Whether it was the incredible hospitality or the perfect pacing of the meal, it all felt so thoughtful and luxurious. Yes, it was a splurge, but if you're celebrating something big--or just want to treat yourself to a truly unforgettable dining experience--Neo is absolutely the place. Highly recommend for anyone new to omakase or seasoned sushi lovers alike.

This is the best omakase experience I've had in my life. Husband did AMAZING for our 1st anniversary This is now our favorite restaurant in Houston. Best for a special occasion Highly recommended doing their omakase. It's $200 per person and they give you add-on options before or during your meal. Drinks (unlimited wine) are included in the $200. The service is exceptional. They never let your wine glass get below full. The staff are super attentive at replacing your chopsticks for each course, getting you a new napkin if you drop it, and pulling out your chair when you get back from the bathroom. If you go to the bathroom the chef will not construct your sushi until you're back so it's as fresh as possible. The staff is super friendly, too. We also loved that you pay before you go in for the actual omakase, so you aren't hung up calculating a tip and reviewing a bill after your meal. They have slots that you reserve with limited occupancy (less than 20 people per slot). Very cozy place, essentially a kitchen behind a clothing store. The seating is around the kitchen so you're watching chefs prepare your dishes in real time. They were nice and explained why certain items were paired, what was in season, and even ground fresh wasabi when everyone arrived (most sushi places use horseradish with green food coloring because real wasabi is expensive). 1000000% going back every special event we have!! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!

Really enjoyed our okakase here. Wish I could remember what everything was but suffice it to say everything was delicious, fresh and gave you that "oh crap that's so good" feeling. I think my friend says it best, it's so good. It pisses you off because you can't have it every day.

Amazing! I'll just start there. I attended my bestie's birthday dinner at Neo. The moment you walk through the first entrance you're in this minimalist, chic space and promptly served a glass of bubbly. After a quick moment of chatter, we were led to the main dining space which also served as a fashion boutique. We were all seated around a half moon dining counter and served more champagne. Next we were served 16 courses of the most delicious and perfect bites ever. So much thought and consideration was put into each course to create a truly special dining experience. I had a menu to refer to for my review but my dog literally ripped it to shreds so the menu was meant to be kept a secret. The Chefs and staff were absolute amazing, kind and patient with us while explaining every detail of each dish and what made it unique. You will absolutely need to book this omikase dining experience in advance and expect a hefty price tag.
